Strongest Hands in Anime: Celebrating Physical Might
Ever wonder what would happen if anime's strongest characters threw hands without magic or special powers? That's exactly what we're exploring in this adrenaline-pumping episode dedicated to raw physical might across the anime multiverse.
We're diving deep into what makes characters like Rock Lee truly special β how in a world where everyone has flashy jutsu, this taijutsu master relies solely on physical training to become legendary. That iconic moment when he drops his weights against Gaara? Pure goosebumps. Then there's Guts, swinging a sword the size of a tree through armored knights and demonic hordes with nothing but human determination driving his impossible feats of strength.
From the mythological might of Berserker in Fate/Stay Night to All Might's weather-changing punches, we celebrate characters who embody different aspects of physical power. Whether it's Eren Yeager's titan-transforming rage, Escanor's noon-powered pride, Saitama's one-punch solutions, or Sung Jin-woo's infinite growth potential, each brings something unique to this conversation. And of course, no discussion about strength would be complete without mentioning the martial arts master himself β Goku, casually sparring with gods on weekends.
What makes these characters compelling isn't just their ability to demolish mountains β it's how their strength reflects their personalities, their growth, and their place in their respective universes. We're breaking down what makes each of these powerhouses special while keeping the conversation fun and accessible.

Welcome to Realm Jumpers. I'm Andrew and this is my co-host, jordan.
Speaker 2:Hey everyone. We're here to dive into the worlds of fantasy and anime, bringing you epic stories and unforgettable adventures.
Speaker 1:We'll be talking world building, unforgettable villains and everything that makes these genres legendary. So let's jump into the realm. We're not here to argue Goku versus Saitama. This isn't about who wins in a fight. This is about the physically strongest, most insanely jacked, overpowered titans in anime history. From demigods and shadow monarchs and muscle-bound heroes, we're celebrating raw power at its most absurd. Oh, this is fun. This will be a good one. Oh yeah, bro, I think this is a long time coming, and this is usually like one of those topics that immediately makes everybody go rage mode and argue for one person or the other. You know what I mean? No, rage.
Speaker 2:This isn't about that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, right, yeah this isn't about that. This isn't. You know, uh goku, stronger than you know. Whoever like, we're not doing that, we're just going straight up, straight up strongest, the strongest anime characters and you know this isn't a conclusive list, we'll probably miss a few, but these are some of the most impactful ones, we think oh yeah, absolutely, and just fun.
Speaker 2:You know, and we are gonna go, you know we're gonna go one at a time. But this is not like number one is a strong, like that's not what we're doing, that's not how we're listing it, like that everybody. So don't come for us in the comments that we're, you know, ridiculous or we miss this guy or that girl or whatever. Just just just just have some fun with this one, all right yeah again, raw strength, not magic, not mind games, just hands you know that and that's the best one.
Speaker 1:Right just hands, just just knocking dudes out, right absolutely I guess we should say though, you can use magic if it makes your hands stronger, but like that's not the main factor, you know, okay, yeah, because you know some of the broken powers like I can control reality, like it's over, like what do we, even you know?
Speaker 2:I mean yeah, exactly, yeah, that's not, we're not talking.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah yeah, we're not talking about magneto here like that's one of the best powers in any universe period, but it doesn't actually make him strong and no death.
Speaker 2:no, oh, I wrote your I win. We're not doing that, okay.
Speaker 1:This is like throwing hands.
Speaker 2:Who can you know? Who could, who could just knock someone out? So I mean we got to kind of start with Rock Lee, right? I mean, boy was made with hands Like he got no feet. He's just hands, hands and feet, hands and feet, you know.
Speaker 1:Dude, and I'm telling you, man, and I think this is probably in the top 10 episode list for everybody that enjoys a good, you know, fight scene in an anime, that scene when he takes off the weights, bro, and drops them, dude, just complete like call back to Dragon.
Speaker 2:Ball right, that's like the chills man you know, he just takes it off and it slams. And I think he's fighting Gaara, if I remember, and he's like wait, or Sasuke, one of them, and they're like wait, what he's got weights on. I mean just the character alone. Man, all these guys got fire powers and lightning and jutsu. And this boy's like yeah, I just beat people up, he just kicks and punches.
Speaker 1:And he's such a good dude. I just opened up my 12th. I just opened up my 12th, I just opened up my ninth or my 12th gate, the 48th gate Fucking, murder people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, rock Lee was just a good dude and he wasn't even like a jerk about it. You know, he was like a good natured dude so you couldn't even get mad at him. But epic scene, man, you ain't lying. When he freaking drops that and he just goes in, I mean pride, so bad that homeboy was going to go into the hospital and murder him in his sleep just to, you know, soothe his own ego. That's pretty. You know, come on, man, that's pretty, pretty legit.
Speaker 1:yeah, absolutely I, yeah, I. I think one of the things, though, that I like about rock, leave them um, and and some of this comes from my guy, you know, just because that was who his mentor was but the the way that he turns, he can turn any scenario into a training scenario.
Speaker 2:Oh, I love it.
Speaker 1:Everything's motivation to get stronger dude.
Speaker 2:I love it.
Speaker 1:That's not power, fantasy, trip stuff, right. That's like a legitimate drive to want to be the best, to want to be the strongest, to want to be this. I can appreciate that.
Speaker 2:I love that, a lot of that. And my guy, you gotta think, like his rivals, kakashi, this dude should just look at you and copy your jitsu. Like you know, he had to come up with these stupid games to like I beat you in this. So therefore we're you know and you want to talk about. I mean he's not on the on our little list here, but my guy obviously should be, because he's the trick teacher. But when he uh does all gates and fights Madara and just Madara himself goes. I respect you Like dude, those boys, rock Lee and my guy, not a level for sure.
Speaker 1:And I think so part of, for me, one of the reasons I didn't want to put my guy up for the list, like I didn't want to stack a list with the universe and another universe and then we're done, and then we've only talked about eight people and two enemies like yeah, we gotta jump around yeah like right I?
Speaker 1:I was like, for my portion of the list I was really just trying to come up with the most impactful person in that universe and for me that's rock lee in the naruto universe yeah, especially with this, like you know, hands thing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely all right. Well, next one I he don't need no introduction, right, come on.
Speaker 1:None, no introduction at all, and this is what hands down your favorite character in the world, I mean he's up there, man.
Speaker 2:It's just, it's guts. All right, Come on everybody. We all know we're going to throw guts in there.
Speaker 1:The man's wielding a sword the size of a tree. Come on, dude Like. What are you talking about, bro? His name is guts.
Speaker 2:Dude like, if you ain't strong, you know like, if you ain't bad, you ain't got no business with the name guts dude and think, like pre berserker armor, like boy was just a knight, like a mercenary rocking a sword three times bigger than him, cutting horses in half, like what are we talking about, man? This dude is just, he's just. He's that guy. I mean obviously before the rage too, I mean just straight up, and then if he gets rageful game over, I mean 100 man slayer guy. What are we talking about?
Speaker 1:well, this is probably going to be blasphemous for all the uh hardcore berserk fans, but in the uh in the 2016 anime, when they, when they rebooted- or not rebooted, but that's like continuation. Yeah, no, it wasn't on netflix, I think it was on. I think it was on yeah, you, you're talking about the uh the terrible 3d animation one.
Speaker 2:Yes, go ahead.
Speaker 1:Yes yeah, the the super grainy, all cgi anime. Yeah, I know blast, complete blasphemy. But that first episode, I think like that's one of those things that highlights his strength, right, that first episode, or, or it does it very well because he walks in there. He walks into a bar that's supposed to be a hangout for you know, the baddest dudes around at least in that area, you know what I mean and he walks in there and just shuts everybody up with one punch dude. And then, you know, later on in that episode you see him in the middle of the field fighting, I don't know, countless skeletons, like it's just his thing, you know he shows up raging baddest mofo around is there anybody in that universe stronger than guts I mean god hand, maybe, maybe griffith.
Speaker 2:But my favorite like strength feat for him is when he's fighting um, I can't remember the guy's name, big old dude and bunch of armor in his horse, armored everything, and his sword breaks.
Speaker 1:You're like oh, and zod throws him oh dude, what are we talking about, man? Ripping your arm out of a freaking dude's mouth, that's true, right, pulling on it and just until it rips.
Speaker 2:I mean that scene who can't blame him? But he grabs the sword from xod and just cuts the guy and the horse in half at the same time like dude guts, is just another level of of astronomy. But yeah, he's out there. Yeah, it's insane, he's. Uh, he's a goat for sure. All right, I know you put this next one in. Do this next. This one's pretty cool well.
Speaker 1:So I think this next one's kind of like the counterpoint to Guts. It's a very similar character type, right, like this character doesn't really have any speaking as far as action wise, it's. To me it feels like a very similar, like visceral character and that would be Hercules or Berserker from Fate, stay Night, and I don't think that dude said an entire word other than grunts the entire series. But I mean it's freaking Hercules dude.
Speaker 2:It's a literal demigod.
Speaker 1:Screaming On top Right, exactly On top of just you know the overwhelming physical strength. I mean, the dude can't die. The only reason, the only reason was it Gilgamesh won or no? Isn't that Gosh? I can't remember. Is it Gilgamesh won or isn't that Gosh, I can't remember.
Speaker 2:Is it Gilgamesh? I don't remember. I haven't seen that in so long. I know he loses. It might have been Gilgamesh, actually I think. I think it was Gilgamesh.
Speaker 1:And. But the only reason he won is because he kept overwhelming him with the you know his noble phantasm?
Speaker 2:Yeah, and that's not strength by magic.
Speaker 1:Yeah, just over, hands down over, yeah, yeah, in any world that hercules shows up. You know he's like dude. It's freaking mythology. It's one of the strongest characters in mythology, whatever you put him in dude.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, he's gonna be goat and he just, I liked in the fates day that he was kind of like just, he was like insanity incarnate, which is rage, like just total, you know non-stop, just go. Oh yeah, boy was insane, he was insane. The girl, right, the little girl's, the one that was his uh, master or whatever, yeah, just the level I.
Speaker 1:So I, I think if there happened to be any dads listening, I, I think that part resonates with you know, anybody that's a dad, because you're, like you can be the you know craziest mofo out there and like he was literally insane and the only thing that made sense to him to protect a little girl. Oh yeah, like that's just.
Speaker 2:That's gonna resonate with any dude that's a dad, you know, and probably most dudes period, but definitely any dude that's a dad yeah, absolutely, man, I am 100% with yeah, I always.
Speaker 1:Uh, I knew he wasn't going to be the the winner of that tournament, but you kind of wanted him to, just because he was such an iconic, like just oh, yeah, you know, yeah, for sure, I I mean it's yeah, no, I I definitely, like there wasn't anybody else that you really wanted to win more than that guy, because, uh, who else was there archer yeah, he was an ass yeah, lancer, he was an ass he was a great character, but he was also an ass, um.
Speaker 1:So yeah, berserker was a great, the best character I mean what saber come on, come on yeah I mean she's great, but like there's there's too much uh, there's there's too much morality and like, uh, ethics wrapped up with saber. So she's got too much going on her head. You know what I mean. Like she probably could be rated up there for one of the stronger characters well, yeah, but especially with her. She's got too much going on her head.
Speaker 1:She gets in her own way yeah, absolutely no, he was, he was stand out absolutely dude, you got to bring this next one because you know more about this character than I do oh yeah, dude.
Speaker 2:So I mean we gotta go. Uh, king of hands, erin from attacking. I mean the boy just wants to beat Titans to death. That's all he wants to do is rip their heads off, kill them, stomp them. His Attack Titans just straight screaming at the world fighting, and then, of course, by the end of it, my God, the rumbling. I mean the dude's just summoning Colossal Titans as if they're flies. He just flicks it all over the place like come on, man dude, just straight up trying to destroy the world I.
Speaker 1:I don't have as much, like I said, I don't have as much experience with that character in that show. Like it's not that I've watched zero of it, it's just I'm not done with it. And even though I am in it, it's not my favorite show like I, so I just don't get into it as much as I do some of the other shows. But just the clips I've seen of Aaron, you know like it's, I don't know that's beast mode on a, on a different level.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, dude, he's just straight like screaming and just I'm going to kill this Titan in front of me. Can I kill all of them? And you front of me could have killed all of them and you know, tag of times, a great story and everything, but it really and I love the ending and I love where it went and stuff, but those beginning few seasons were so just interesting, because this dude is going to make them all pay for what they did, type thing. And who wouldn't get behind that after what they did to his mom? Come on, anybody would want that. You know you're living in a cage. You want to be free. You can't, because these things will eat you. You know, like, come on, then you get the power to smash them to pieces.
Speaker 2:Like, of course, yeah, great, great series the titans are terrifying, dude terrifying and the worst part about them and it's like as terrifying as they just straight eat you alive as you're screaming and you're like getting chomped on. They don't even eat you for sustenance at all. They literally throw them back up. It's terrible. They're just eating you because they want to. It's so messed up, it's not even for food, it's for fun. I don't know, dude, it's just horrible, it's not even for anything. It's just like I'm going to eat you and then when they find the bodies thrown up later, you're just like what they're just doing. It like just in their nature, terrifying yeah just because just because it's fun, I don't know.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I should give you this next one, since you're you're kind of in it now I mean so, yeah, the next one up.
Speaker 1:We got all might and I know we said this wasn't going to be magic based and again you know it's not. Technically, magic has to give you like strength, right so all might fits into that category, where it is back here yeah, all my back there behind me dude, all might I.
Speaker 1:So I'm, I'm knee deep in season three right now. Um, it's been out long enough that I can say this I'm at, I'm right at the, the part where kachan gets snatched up, um, by the, uh, the villains league, the league of villains, whatever they're calling themselves. So like he's just been abducted, but all might in the. You know the little bit of time that he is in the episodes. Um, he's just got a presence right, like it's. He's like hercules slash, I don't know man, it's wild. Like you can roll up quite a few characters into All Might, and I think All Might might be able to stomp them. And that's the cool thing. I know we're not doing a head-to-head, but I no, I mean, you're not wrong.
Speaker 2:You haven't even got to like the really really good stuff with him, so there's even more, but you're not lying. His presence is so felt in like almost every character good or bad, to be honest in that show. It's just so interesting and then he's on screen and it's just like he steals the show. Every time the dude's on screen he's such a good character, like it's just I. I think it's the voice actor too is a big part of that.
Speaker 1:What we talked about he's like a better version of superman, because at least he's funny he's funny and he's just like.
Speaker 2:Like you said, he's not the best teacher, he's like. I don't know why you can't do it he's a terrible teacher, you know okay, he needs help. Yeah, I don't know, dude we talked about this before.
Speaker 1:That's like michael jordan right, he's the michael jordan like. No, no wonder that dude couldn't coach, because he's like I don't know, bro, you just show up and make shots like that's what the freak do it like yeah he had to put in a lot of practice, but the natural talent was there yeah, all might.
Speaker 2:Uh, he's a great, he's gotta be on the list, man. I mean, he's all hands detroit smash. Oh yeah, come on, let's go that dude.
Speaker 1:I love the name of that too.
Speaker 2:Just detroit smash like that's just a great name for a for a combo well, what's so cool is that he's japanese but he trained in america, so all his hero super moves are all american states, cities, like all this stuff. And you know, it's funny because then he comes back to japan as the number one hero and he's wearing blue and red and what like.
Speaker 1:He looks like america with blonde hair and everything, but he's yeah, it's kind of funny so I guess I just haven't made it that far yet, which is fine, like I, it's not.
Speaker 2:It's not a huge no, it's a yeah, it's not a spoiler, but it's part of the. Uh, it's in one of the moods. So the thing with my hero is they do the little animated movies. There's like three or three of them or four of them, and they're technically canon, like they are part of the storyline. They don't impact the show really, but there are parts that show um, I'm sorry, one for all, and he was training in america. So you see it like you see that. So they tell you, yeah, but yeah, he trained there. That's where he got. He had a cape, he used to have a cape and stuff and then he came back and he changed some of his stuff. But yeah, he's, uh, he's all good.
Speaker 1:I don't know man, like probably the best fight scene I've seen him in was when jumps in when the legal villains attacks the us, you know the usj and uh, he jumps in to fight the, the big nomu character, and just like dude, like he's in it for all of five minutes and it's just fantastic.
Speaker 2:Wait until you see some of the later stuff you're gonna be like oh yeah, I can't yeah, he's. Uh, dude, he's great. He's such a good character. You gotta do the next one, because I did watch it, but I think you you're more into this one than me.
Speaker 1:I don't know, man, I don't know if I'm into it more than you, or just like so. Escanor from the Seven Deadly Sins.
Speaker 2:He was my favorite in that show.
Speaker 1:So if you don't know who Escanor is, he has got peak power at high noon, right, it's kind of like your boy uh, from, from. Uh, it's kind of like your boy from mha, you know, the dark raven guy can't remember his name right now but in reverse, like at peak noon, the man's at the height of his power and for me, like the reason why I love that character so much is because he's I don't know. It's just funny to watch him go from like the humble like a guy.
Speaker 1:He's like a butler yeah, at midnight, just as the day slightly gets longer, like you know, as the morning starts to wear on, he just gets a little bit cockier and a little bit cockier until we're at peak, you know, high noon, and he can fight anybody and he's like, and he's bluffed and like I'm asking that's who the? Yeah, yeah, he's like. That's who the f?
Speaker 2:I am I'm asking, or I'm like I'm gonna, I'm the guy, and then he's got these rocks the mustache. No, he's a cool character man. I'm funny. He's my favorite in seven deadly. And then bond is my second because I like his character. But in meliodas is cool. But eskimo is just like he's the guy, dude. He's like you're gonna stand against me or you're gonna die right, like you know, you're gonna lose. That's what. It's just the guy. Pride embodiment man just ready to. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I think also for me that thing about eskenor is.
Speaker 2:You know, those pictures of those old boxers, oh, you know, what I'm talking about like it'd be like that old shirtless boxer and he's standing there like that and he's got the big curly mustache.
Speaker 1:Dude, that's, it's just. It looks like eskenor and it just. It makes me crack up every single time. But I mean, hands down, the dude is one of the strongest in you. But yeah, I think he's in universe guy at peak noon yeah, no, he is.
Speaker 2:and then I think he he liked uh, merlin, right, that's what, but he was always timid and he wouldn't say anything. And then when he's Eskimo and he's all big, you know, he's super big, he's like what's up girl, you know, like great character man. I love his character. He's definitely fun. I mean obviously we got to put a good old sight to him from One Punch man. I mean, yeah, yeah, he's a walking gag, but that's the point right, one punch, you win.
Speaker 1:It is a fun show, though I well okay. So what do you know about the background, about this story? Because I, I swear to god, like when this first came out and I first read the blurb you know about one punch man, I was like are they just imitating bruce lee? And like you know the one inch punch thing? And like elevating that to like the next level of crazy.
Speaker 2:I mean, here's what's so weird about this story is that it's an action story, number one. There is comedy, but it's more action and the art's amazing. The manga art's amazing. The first season's amazing. The second season we'll see. Hopefully the third season. They pick it up and they do better, but the fighting is really great, which is weird because he does only really use one punch most of the time. Um, but the way that they get it's weird. They don't really explain that well, the way you get powers.
Speaker 2:This universe is kind of like different for him. He used to have hair. He was kind of a loser salaryman type character. A crab villain attacked the kid and he got in the way and saved the kid and, you know, got hurt a little bit. And then somewhere along the way he started doing a hundred push-ups, a hundred pull-ups, running I don't know it was 10 miles, whatever it was. And then because someone he's finally, how did you get this strong? So he tells them they think he's trolling them. That's what's so funny, but he's really not, tro. Because he's finally like how did you get this strong? So he tells them they think he's trolling them. That's what's so funny. But he's really not trolling them. He's like you got to do it for a whole year and then in the winter you can't use heat, in the summer you can't use AC, like that's all he said. And no one believes this dude. But during this training of him in that year he would fight villains and he loved the fight like he loved, he felt alive when he was fighting. He loved it. And now it's he's so strong that he's like bored and he's just like, okay, well, I'm still gonna help.
Speaker 2:But the funny thing about it is that all his feats that he's done, no one has seen it that it's been him. So this guy, king, who has, he's a loser. He got no power. Everyone thought he. They saw him at one of the things and thought, oh, it's him, he's the guy who's beating him. So everything he's ever done, king is the s ranked hero, the strongest human on earth, oh no.
Speaker 2:So this dude has all of the accolades that that one punch man should have side, so much you'd have. So then he finally goes to get like ranked like they, you know, judge the power, and he breaks it and they're like, oh, it must have malfunctioned. So he's ranked like c or something. It's the funniest thing in the world, but meanwhile king is is ranked one. So, like, the funny thing with king is they call it the king engine and it's his heart that's going so fast because he's scared to death that he's going to die.
Speaker 2:And King, I don't know if he's like luck incarnate, but he always works out and he always gets away with it and he's fine and that's like the whole thing. So it's really a funny show, but the action is actually really good, which is what's so weird about it, because it's such a fun story. And is what's so weird about it? It's just such a fun story and and you never think he's gonna lose like that's not the point when you're watching. You know saitama's if he's there, he's not gonna lose. But is this villain gonna push him to actually use more than one punch? And there's been a few where he's had to use more than one punch, and even his special move is that called serious series punches. That's what he calls his ultimate attack serious, serious punch number, whatever.
Speaker 1:So it's a fun show, but yeah yeah, he is really cool.
Speaker 2:The problem with him is that you know these lists, this vert, you know, like we said, goku's this that how can you compete with a guy who his whole thing is one punch and he wins like it's. You know what I mean?
Speaker 1:you can't really so how many of his fights took more than one punch?
Speaker 2:only a couple, only the in the first season that Alien Duty fought. But the thing is I think he was also trying to prolong the fight like a little bit of Kenpachi, because he's like I'm having fun actually, so he maybe didn't hit as hard. Yeah.
Speaker 1:So he wasn't using a serious, serious punch.
Speaker 2:No, it was like he was having fun and then later on there's some battles that he really does have to go pretty all out and it's more than just a few punches, you know one punch. But it's a fun show. I mean like it's a legit series but it is kind of funny. But all the characters around him are like super interesting and fun. Like the cyborg guy. Genos wants him to train him. He's like I don't train people. He's like well, I'm gonna be your student, you know, it's like it's he like forces himself to be a student and stuff. But it's, it's cool. But you gotta throw him on the list, man. I mean, he's one punch, oh yeah no absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 2:Well, you take the next one. I know he's your boy over here, he's my boy too, but all right.
Speaker 1:Well, I, this one's gonna ruffle some feathers for sure because sung jinwoo of solo leveling.
Speaker 1:But you got to hear me out, I don't care what you say about, but he's not the strongest character in universe. Yeah, I hear you and I actually agree with you if you are one of the people saying that. Here's the thing. The dude started out as a regular human and ends up as a walking apocalypse infinite leveling. Whatever level he's at in the show, he can grow exponentially. It's infinite. He can keep going. So, no matter what, he can continue to get stronger. So for me, I would include sung jin woo on this list because he can have, he has the potential to become the strongest, regardless of where he is at currently. So for this one, it's his potential. But even that, his fights where he showed off his insane strength was absolutely you know they were great. There were quite a few of them. I mean even in season one against that big snake monster. In what episode?
Speaker 2:episode three or four dude, that fight was awesome.
Speaker 1:He goes to that first underground dungeon yeah like that thing was insanely strong, and I mean he just brutalized that thing.
Speaker 2:It's basically just his fists because, if I remember correctly, his daggers couldn't even puncture that thing right I mean, yeah, and when he was fighting a beer for a little bit before he got the weapon out, they were just brawling and he was taking his and throwing his. So he's got hands.
Speaker 1:Yeah, exactly and this might be the most rage baitiest one on this list like, just because you, you know there's going to be people that are going to be like, well, the demon king whomped him. Well, yeah, the demon king whomped him, but again, it's the potential that he has, right, he can continue to grow infinitely, and so that's basically God tier power. That is legitimately God tier power.
Speaker 2:Oh, absolutely. And you know, by the end of it, dude like, come on, you know how strong he got? Yeah, exactly, and that's not even the strongest he could get.
Speaker 1:But all right. Well, you have to close us out with this last one, and I don't think it's going to be a surprise to anybody.
Speaker 2:But you still got to bring us home. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1:I mean obviously, even though I'm a Vegeta boy forever.
Speaker 2:Goku's definitely going to be on here. I mean, come on, it's Goku. Like we all know martial artists, yeah, we can end it right there. He's brawling with Beerus on Lazy Sunday after the God of Destruction. He's just throwing hands for fun. He almost hit Whis a couple times. He's probably the strongest in that universe, so Goku's got to be there. Come on, he's got to be on there. Sorry, I love Vegeta, but Goku always surpasses him. That's the story. No-transcript, absolutely. It's that plot, armor. I just, you know, I wish he was a little smarter, but then when he fights he is smart. So it's just, he doesn't want to use his smarts on, yeah, real life.
Speaker 1:He wants to use it in fighting so that's kind of like the same thing as naruto, right, when you know, because naruto is a big ding dong um, but you know, once he gets in a fight, like he thinks tactically and it's comparatively. If I were going to compare two characters and have them like, I would say these two are the most alike, and this is really going to sound crazy. But I'm going to say natsu from fairy tale and goku, just it's that they're big old doofuses and then, dude, they just turn it on when they get into a fight, right they just want to throw hands.
Speaker 2:They go from yeah, they go.
Speaker 1:They go from biggest idiots to like. This is the most insane person on the planet that knows the most about fighting yeah, period, that's a good.
Speaker 2:That's a good, that's a good comparison because it does. It does work pretty good.
Speaker 1:On that I agree with you I know their temper is not really the same, but still no, nazi is more fiery, of course, but they're, that's a.
Speaker 2:they are both oblivious to women and everything else. They just want to, not to like to drink, but they like to eat or drink whatever, and then they just throw their hands pretty much.
Speaker 1:Nah, that was a good list, man. Solid, awesome characters. And again hit us up in the comments on who you think should be on the list. And again, this isn't a top 10 list. This isn't a tier 10 list. This isn't a tiered list. We're not promoting any one of these as the strongest over somebody else, although objectively I could make an argument for. But that's not what we're doing. We're just like some of the most top tier strong fighters in an anime. I think this was a good list. I had a lot of fun doing this. Should we jump into realm remorse?
Speaker 2:yeah, let's, uh, let's get on it, because there are some uh interesting ones in here. So, yeah, dude, I've been waiting for this all night. Dude, this is gonna be great. So it's already out on. Uh, if you're playing diablo, you can go ahead and download. So, crazy dude, they have a berserk collab. I like literally berserk, like they they was to melt together, meld together. So good, berserk and diablo. It's, it's pretty awesome. So it is out. You can check it out. Um, there's an animated trailer. It's actually pretty cool. You get the armor and stuff.
Speaker 2:There's even, uh, like, some like little story the full berserker armor you get his berserker armor, dude, you get the berserker armor man, you get. I think you also get, not that who wants griffith's armor? But come on, but yeah, dude, it's uh, the berserker armor set is for the barbarian skull knight, armor is for the necromancer. So the necromancer gets the skull knight, which is dope, the uh like hawk of light, which is, uh, you know, griffith's is for the rogue and I, dude, that's just like insane, like that's so crazy. So, yeah, it's out, you can get it. Uh, it's gonna run all the way to the end of may, so may 30th, you have that much time to get it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, super cool, uh that actually that might, I don't know that might make me pick diablo 4 back up and reinstall it I know I have it in there too.
Speaker 1:I was like I'm looking at it like man, but I don't know if I'd play it again I don't think I'll do it, but god, I want to yeah no, no, like it's a dude, that is the worst time sink in for me like that is not a worthwhile time sink yeah, they have mastered the art of uh shiny right, yeah, exactly all right, you take the next one all right.
Speaker 1:So the japanese government, they're coming up with new initiatives to expand anime's reach. Well, what are we talking about? Because anime has already got a pretty big reach, right, it's worldwide. Um, what the japanese government is talking about doing is they've created this like focus group. See what, how they can push cultural affairs. But what they're trying to do is how do they push this into you, like, how do you make manga drawing and you know anime production? Um, a university like I don't know, not certificate, whatever you call it, degree, right, like how do you make a degree program right?
Speaker 2:there's a lame degree, but anime be would be cool.
Speaker 1:No, absolutely, absolutely lame degrees and honestly. But here's the and this is the. For me, the only reason I really picked this article is because the name of the agency right is the Agency for Cultural Affairs, which I'm sorry if you have watched any amount of like slice of life anime in the past couple of years. There was this anime several years ago that came out and it was called midnight occult civil servants and as soon as I heard that name agency for cultural affairs I was like what are they doing? Are they helping the supernatural beings at nighttime, like where?
Speaker 2:are we at like this is real life anime.
Speaker 1:Right now it sounds like yeah, a cover absolutely yeah, it's a secret cover for a government agency, and that's what I really think it is.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's actually pretty cool. It's cool that they're going to do that, though, like hey, push it out there, oh yeah awesome.
Speaker 1:I mean they need to because, right, we've discussed it enough times Like the whole industry is overworked and tired, you know, just breathe some new blood into it.
Speaker 2:You know what? It's funny, you brought that up. So there's a big controversy right now with this last one, um, because there's an AI and the director of it was kind of getting roasted a little bit on questions about it and he was defending the AI of using AI. Um, the series is called twins. You know Hema, I don't know what it's about about um, but they use ai like crazy in it apparently.
Speaker 2:And um, you know the, the director, he's getting kind of pushed on it and he's defending it, saying, well, I'm not saying their ai should direct it or anything like that, but by using ai and I don't know the logic of where he's going with it. But he keeps saying that why waste animators on pointless scenes like walking and things like that? The ai can do it better and quicker than we can and this will free up more jobs for animators. But I feel like you know, okay, maybe using it for those in between scenes is fine, whatever, but that's going to eventually get to a point where they're using it for action and talking scenes and background scenes and sunsets and on and on. I don't know how it helps jobs and how.
Speaker 1:How quickly see there's any. With anything with ai, there's always a little bit of altruism, you know, mixed in for the initial people that bring it up they're like, oh yeah, this is gonna make those lives easier. But here's the thing. Um sure, it might make the guy's life easier that doesn't want to animate somebody walking, but let's face it, how far away are we from saying, hey, we'll introduce this thing so you don't have to animate these boring scenes? To how far are we away from that, going live to the point where they say, well, now I can pay you less because you're not animating as many scenes or right there some variation of you deserve less money because you're not doing all
Speaker 2:the animation yeah, it's knocking on the door and apparent. So here's the other part about it. This series says 95 of it is ai animating. So it's like you're not really using the 95%. It's not 10, 15, 95% of your show is animated like this. Like, come on now. Yeah.
Speaker 1:I don't know Like this doesn't. So I looked at it and I was like this doesn't look like anything I would actually watch anyways, but I might have to check this out just to see is it any good, like the animation, because here's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 1:I'm thinking the animation is going to be like the first couple episodes of t-bait, where you're getting a you know slide show presentation right like um, I know I know animation can do some really dope stuff, but let's face it, bro, animation can't do hands like that is one of the most basic things in the entire world and ai can't handle that not yet, not yet, but here's my thing not ever, hands are difficult.
Speaker 2:I think you're right about like, oh, this is gonna help. And then it's like, well, we don't need as many of you anymore. And then it's like, oh, we only need a couple. So, like you put people out of work, like, and it's just gonna get better. That's what it does all the time. So what are you supposed to do? Like you're gonna get to a point where it can do action scenes, like it's going to get to that point and I don't know if it's something that is just the whole world is going to get affected by ai. This is what it is.
Speaker 2:I don't know, but this point kind of seems like it's that runaway train you can't really derail. I mean, maybe you can, I don't know, but it doesn't seem like anyone wants to. So I, you know I I don't want people not to not to lose their jobs over it. I don't want people to be working 90 hours, either every couple days or whatever. I don't want that either. There's got to be a sweet spot here. Guys like these people need lives. You can't have them work seven days a week to meet a deadline, but then you can't have AI come in either and take their jobs away. So in this conversation. It needs to be had out of more than just anime. I mean, in a lot of industries and no one really wants to have those conversations. It's like in a weird way, I feel, like a lot of the AI stuff, it's almost like we're not going to stop. It doesn't matter how dangerous it could be, it doesn't matter if people lose their jobs, we're not going to stop. That's what it seems like. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1:So here's the thing like, especially in tech, like in the tech world, right, everybody's like AI is going to take your job. That's not true. What's actually going to happen is that somebody that knows how to utilize AI is going to take your job, and if you don't get hip and on board with knowing how to use AI, somebody will replace you that does know how to do that, but AI straight up isn't going to. I mean, you can. Yes, chatbots will get better. Yes, the AI animation will get better. I'm assuming they will eventually learn how to do hands, but that's all of the human trained data.
Speaker 1:It's off of human trained data. So pay the humans, because you, all of your data, came from humans.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but you know they're not going to want to. You know that. You know how that goes. Well, that's why we're just going to keep arguing about it.
Speaker 1:Right, like that's well every time one of these comes up, I'm going to post it and I'm going to bring it up and I'm going to be like this is a shit idea, Don't do it.
Speaker 2:Well, you have to because you're right. You know what you said is 100% right. They will eventually get to. It's not just walking scenes now, it's this nah, nah, and then it's just not. Companies ain't never doing something for the good of whatever. Come on, all right, do the hot take. Would you all right? Hot, take time. Let's see. Would you rather have goku's power but be stuck with his fun personality, or be a weak character with an elite tactical mind like light or shikamaru? What do you think?
Speaker 1:um, well, here's the thing. I know that I should pick the fun answer, because this is an entire episode is about. You know anime's strongest characters, but I'm gonna go ahead and say shikamaru, like, go ahead and give me shikamaru's intellect. Um, and here's the reason. So any character can get stronger. Any person can get stronger. You know, if you train in the gym every day and you train diligently and you train the right way, even as a real human being, it's stronger. So characters get stronger all the time. They all go through training arcs, blah, blah, blah. You're not necessarily born with the smarts, so I will take shikamaru's tactical mind and then I will go train the crap out of myself to make myself as strong as a goku. You know a rock lee. Well, maybe not that strong, but you get my point. So I'm going with the tactical mind all day long that's a yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 2:I mean, if I'm gonna have saiyan powers, though and I gotta be a little dumb in the head it may not be the worst thing, right? I mean, you're not that smart, you're not really worried about dumb shit, right? You just try to have fun and fight people and eat that's all. Goku does bro.
Speaker 1:He's happy.
Speaker 2:My boy's happy every day of his life.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, that's true, Goku is happy every day of his life and he probably can get tricked into stupid situations by somebody that's slightly out, things Like, let's face it, vegeta is smarter than Goku. You know what I mean? Tact, that vegeta is smarter, smarter than goku. Uh, you know what I mean? Tactically, vegeta is the better choice. That's why he's your favorite. Um, no, goku's dope. But man, I don't know, I couldn't be that dumb. I couldn't even be naruto dumb, because that's, that's just dumb, like it's like.
Speaker 2:No, bro I can't do. I can't do it though. So goku for sure, he just is the ignorance is bliss. That's his like. You know what I mean? That's how I feel about him, for for naruto, yes, in the beginning, but when he gets older he does get more tactical and smarter, he does learn a little bit, but goku is straight up, he's just straight. Like. I was trying to eat. Oh, I guess I'm a dad, uh I got a kid I got kids.
Speaker 2:What are you talking about? I'm trying to train. He just, you know, he just wants to fight and he eats and the dude's like happy. He's never. That boy don't know sadness ever. Well, when krillin died, but it was more anger, but still other than that, and you can switch people back anyway, who cares?
Speaker 1:no, that was a good one, man, because honestly, it makes you want to think like I typically do pick the stronger characters, but when you have, when you're forced to think about it as be strong or do you want the brain like I don't want to? Be dungeon and dragon stuff over there right yeah, I don't want to be dumb, just let me be smart, please look, I'll figure it out.
Speaker 2:All right, I'll figure it out somehow, just let me have brain, yeah, I get it, yeah let me remember what my please Like dude didn't even know his son Goat. Well, I guess he was dead. But you know, he's like you, look like me, Like yeah, he's literally you, he's your twin dude, he's your kid. Oh okay, Piccolo, can you handle it? That's pretty much what he does. Take him to school, I'm going to go.
